Angel is from a small town in upstate New York (Easton). She attended the University of Illinois where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2006 and then graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois Law School in 2009. Angel has practiced law in Mattoon ever since, first as an associate with Tapella & Eberspacher LLC (formerly Hefner, Eberspacher, Tapella, Armstrong, Grove & Britton LLC). She then joined this firm as a partner in February 2020.
Angel is the Vice President of the Eastern Illinois Estate Planning Council, a member of the Board of Directors for the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois, a member of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section Council. Angel has previously served on the boards of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Angel focuses her practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and guardianships.
Angel resides in Mattoon and is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank and is the Recording Secretary of the local chapter (Governor Edward Coles – Sally Lincoln Chapter) of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
