Kathy
Vogel
LEGAL ASSISTANT
Kathy lives with her husband on a grain farm in rural Strasburg in Shelby County. She graduated from Teutopolis High School and from Illinois Commercial College in Champaign. Kathy has been a legal assistant for the past 46 years. She became Janet Grove’s assistant in 2013.
Kathy enjoys traveling when she’s not working, especially visiting her grandchildren in Arizona.
Becky

LEGAL ASSISTANT
Becky joined the staff in November 2020, bringing over 30 years of experience as a legal assistant. She is a lifelong resident of Shelby County where she resides with her husband on a small beef and grain farm.
When not at work, Becky enjoys zipping through the grass on her zero turn lawn mower, and spending time and travels with family and friends.
Mackenzie Lotzgesell
LEGAL ASSISTANT
Mackenzie lives in Mattoon, IL but is from the small town of Sullivan, IL. She started her journey as a legal assistant with our firm in May of 2021.
When not in the office, she loves to be comfy and work on drawings or paintings. She also loves going on walks around town or on pretty trails and listens to music as much as possible.
The late, great John H. Armstrong
John H. Armstrong was born in Champaign, Illinois. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1960 with Phi Delta Phi honors. John worked in oil and gas law, real estate, and estate planning in and around Coles County for sixty years. He and Attorney Janet Grove worked together from 1985 to 2020, beginning at Craig & Craig, then as Armstrong & Grove, then joining Hefner, Eberspacher, Tapella, Armstrong, Grove, Jones & Britton LLC, and finally at the Law Office of Armstrong & Grove LLC in Mattoon, which was renamed Armstrong, Grove & Wawrzynek LLC to reflect the addition of Angel Wawrzynek as a partner.
In 2020, after 60 years of dedicated service to his clients and to the community, John retired from the practice of law. We are saddened to announce that John passed away on September 5, 2022.
