Janet L. Grove grew up in Bloomington, Indiana and attended Purdue University where she received a B.S. and an M.S. in Agriculture Education. She earned her law degree from Indiana University-Bloomington and practices in the areas of trust and estate planning and administration, guardianships, real estate, business succession planning and charitable gifting. She began her law career at Craig & Craig and later became Vice President & Trust Officer with First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust N.A. in Mattoon. She was a partner at Armstrong & Grove from 1996 to 2007 and with Hefner, Eberspacher, Tapella, Armstrong, Grove, Jones, & Britton LLC from 2007 to 2011 when she formed the present firm with John Armstrong.
Her professional contributions have included participation in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Planning Committee for the Estate Planning Short Course, the Illinois State Bar Association Trust & Estates Section Council (Chair 2010-2011), Standing Committee on Mentoring (Chair 2008-2010), and CLE Committee, and the Coles-Cumberland County Bar Association (Chair 2008). She has also published articles and taught numerous continuing legal education courses for the Illinois State Bar Association.
Her community service includes serving as director and/or volunteering through Coles County Council on Aging (Chair 2013), Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and their foundation, Hospice, Lincolnland Visiting Nurses, CCAR Industries, Mattoon Area Community Foundation, Mattoon Rotary Club and local churches and civic groups.
